Retrospective
After I saw the chair at the very top of the drawing, I wondered what might happen if curves were purposefully used in its design. Instead of designing for aesthetics or function, I asked myself: Why can't aesthetics, comfort, and function purposefully converge to make a pleasing chair?
It is why I imagined an armrest, to create comfort as well as a wave-like form that can create physical and aesthetic comfort for users. I also wondered what sustainable methods and materials might be conducive to such a design. In short, this is a thought experiment that made its way on to paper, all while inking everything by hand.
